HOLOCAUST MENTOR; Since 2016, Shimie has been a Docent and Lecturer at the Amud Aish Memorial Museum (AAMM). It is a living memorial to all the victims of the Holocaust. However, its mission is to present the history of the Holocaust with special emphasis on the values and perspectives of religiously observant communities throughout Europe. They are the only Museum in the world that represents traditional faith-based Jewish victim experiences before, during and immediately following the Holocaust. In his role as Docent and Lecturer he guides teachers and students who visit the museum through the exhibits and provides the background history of the Holocaust. Shimie developed his interest and expertise in Holocaust studies from his father Harry A”H who as a child in1939 miraculously escaped the impending Churban. (The story can be found in the Splendor of the Maggid by Pesach Krohn; Gracious Traits and Character page 142) His father lived every day understanding the gift hewas given and passed his knowledge of Churban Europe and passion to carry on the legacy of the kedoshim to his son, Shimie.
